Liverpool are reportedly preparing a huge bid to beat Barcelona and Manchester United to the signing of Kai Havertz.
The Reds have held talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a move for the playmaker, with an eye-watering €125million the suggested fee, reports Mundo Deportivo.
With United said to be close to completing a €70million deal for Bruno Fernandes, the path could be clear for Liverpool to bid for Havertz.
The German international has two goals and an assist to his name this term, after his previous breakout season which saw his net 17 Bundesliga goals.
Liverpool have not been put off by big transfer fees in the past, but the proposed deal for the 20-year-old would smash their current transfer record, which stands at £75 million following Virgil van Dijk’s switch from Southampton in January 2018.
Jurgen Klopp has already brought in Takumi Minamino for £7.25m from RB Salzburg in January.
