Nearly everyone involved in the wrestling business has sent out their well wishes to the now former Universal Champion Roman Reigns, who surrendered the title on Raw earlier this week after he announced that his leukemia had returned. As a result, Reigns will be stepping away from the ring, but he promised his fans that he will be back once he defeats the illness. Everybody from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to New Japan Pro Wrestling have commented on the matter by leaving tributes to Reigns on social media, and the outpouring of support for “The Big Dog” continues. Former NXT Champion Aleister Black, Madison Square Garden, and The Usos are all the latest to honor Roman Reigns.
Breaking from character to share a personal story, NXT Superstar Aleister Black posted a message on Facebook recently wherein he told a story about working backstage on some WWE events during May of 2017. It was during these shows that he met Roman Reigns and immediately bonded with the former world champion. Meanwhile, The Usos, who are part of the same Samoan family as Reigns, showed respect by using Roman’s fist gesture during a Frog Splash on SmackDown last night. Also, the famous Madison Square Garden venue in New York City displayed an image outside of the arena yesterday wishing Reigns a speedy recovery. Reigns has competed in MSG several times throughout his career.

As of right now, WWE will still be visiting the nation of Saudi Arabia in November for their Crown Jewel event. DX vs. The Brothers of Destruction, Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship, and the first-ever WWE World Cup are only some of the matches that have been announced for the event, but it has been confirmed now that the SmackDown Tag Team Championships will be up for grabs during the show as well. On SmackDown last night, a rematch between The New Day and The Bar for the tag team titles was made official for the Crown Jewel event. This match, along with several others, will be taking place at Crown Jewel on November 2nd, which will also be airing live on the WWE Network.
