Things regarding Daniel Bryan’s current status and contract with WWE continues to get more and more interesting. As previously reported, the contract of the former WWE World Champion and the former SmackDown Live General Manager is scheduled to expire on September 1st 2018. Due to the date being the same day as the heavily-advertised and highly-anticipated All In Event that takes place at the Sears Center Arena in Chicago, Illinois, speculation has been running rampant online that Daniel Bryan would make a surprise appearance at the event.
That appears to be less likely now following the latest set of official WWE advertising for their upcoming WWE Super Show-Down Event at the massive Melbourne Cricket Grounds Stadium in Melbourne, Australia on October 6th 2018. According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program, as of this weekend, Bryan has yet to sign a new contract with WWE. That would make WWE advertising him over a month after his contract expires, for such a big show, rather interesting.
As previously reported, Bryan recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho Podcast and revealed that he doesn’t know if he could even do the show.
“The day of the show is the day my contract expires,” Bryan said. When asked if that meant he could appear at the event, Bryan laughed and replied, “I don’t know!”
Bryan also noted that he doesn’t know if his contract expires on August 31st at midnight or September 1st at midnight, with the latter not allowing him to appear. Bryan joked that he could appear at the show in a full body suit and a mask, and then get unmasked at midnight.
Cards are always subject to change and the WWE Super Show-Down in Australia is no different.
