It was recently reported by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio that the annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal may not be returning to WrestleMania this year. Just two days later, Alvarez seemed to walk his claims back on the next edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. It now appears that the battle royal will be returning to WrestleMania this year after all, but it may also be accompanied with a battle royal for WWE’s female competitors this year. Current plans reportedly call for one of the battle royals to be featured on the Kickoff show while the other is featured on the main card. Which match will be on the main card is unknown at the time, but past reports have suggested that the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will get more attention than usual this year due to the upcoming documentary based on Andre coming to HBO in April.
