According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, recently-returned NXT Superstar Hideo Itami suffered a neck injury at the October 1st NXT live event in Largo, FL and is expected to be out of action for months. According to reports, the injury occurred during a tag team match wherein Hideo was teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura against Riddick Moss and Tino Sabbatelli. Moss power slammed Itami, causing the injury in question.

Itami is scheduled for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic with partner Kota Ibushi but he will likely be pulled due to the injury, which took place after the tournament announcement. Dave Meltzer notes that there is no timetable for his return yet.

Itami just returned to action in June after being out for over a year with a shoulder injury.
