Thanks to rajah.com reader Jack Crawford for sending this in!

Hi there,

Long time reader and fan of the site, so thought I’d ‘give something back’ if you will, and give you the results from last nights show from Glasgow.

The show was at the SSE Hydro and was the first stage of the UK WrestleMania Revenge Tour. The venue was also sold out; I think it holds about 12,000. Enough for a TV taping in future?

There were some ‘Yes’ chants before the show got underway.

Before the event started, a Justin Roberts voiceover told us we could pick the type of contest Mark Henry and Fandango face off in later tonight. The choices were a Match or a Dance Off. We had to use hashtags #WWEMatch or #WWEDanceOff on twitter.

Then, a couple of videos aired. One about Slam City, another looking back at WrestleMania in a cool little video.

Justin Roberts came out to start the show. He told us due to an injury, Daniel Bryan would not be in attendance which was welcomed by loud boos. We had 20 minutes to go and get a refund if we wished but I didn’t see anyone leave.

Then, Randy Orton came out. He cut a promo saying he was planning on using his rematch clause tonight but now can’t, as Bryan won’t be here. He said he was the only member of Evolution in Glasgow tonight. Orton called out Roman Reigns for a one on one match and we had our first match. The match didn’t really get going before Rybaxel came out and started to help Orton in beating down Reigns. Rollins and Ambrose came out to make the save. Out came Raw GM Brad Maddox. He said Rollins and Ambrose would face Rybaxel right now. He also said Reigns and Orton were banned from ringside. Maddox then announced the Main Event: Orton v Reigns… in a Steel Cage!

Rollins and Ambrose defeated Rybaxel. Rybaxel got a lot of attack on Ambrose, and Rollins ended up getting the pin after a hot tag and then curb stomp for the 1-2-3. The fans were really into this match with the faces getting a lot of cheers and the heels getting a lot of heat – the usual ‘Goldberg’ chants towards Ryback.

The next match was a Fatal 4 Way for the IC Championship. Jack Swagger came out – accompanied by Zeb Colter – and Zeb cut a pretty funny promo. He read out the numberplate of a car and said the owner had to go and move it. Not because it’s in anyone’s way, just because it’s a piece of crap. He also thought he was in Ireland, not Scotland. The other 3 competitors were Rob Van Dam, Big E and of course, Bad News Barrett. Barrett cut a promo and said stuff about us Scots voting for independence. No matter what we voted, it won’t be long until England finally kicks us out of the UK, as we don’t contribute much anyway.

Bad News Barrett retained his title defeating Jack Swagger, RVD and Big E. The finish came when RVD hit the frogsplash on Swagger, Barrett came in and threw RVD off and BNB got the three count. Everyone hit their finishers at some point apart from Barrett.

Now it was time for the Fans Choice Match. Henry and Fandango (with Layla) made their way out before Maddox came out. He asked if we would like to see a match – cheers – or a dance off – boos. Maddox showed a graphic and Dance Off won. Fandango went first; he did his usual dancing to his theme music. For Henry’s go, he put on a silver glove and danced to Billie Jean by Michael Jackson. It was pretty awful but Henry still got a good reaction. Fandango attacked him mid ‘dance’ and the bell rang. It looked like we’d get a match but Henry got the upper hand and Fandango ran off. Henry invited a small kid in to the ring after the match and they danced for a bit, which was nice.

Up next, Sin Cara came out. Then, Roberts introduced the absolutely wonderful Lana. She said her usual about Putin, and Scotland never having a strong leader or something like that. Rusev came out.

Rusev made Sin Cara tap out to the Camel Clutch. The match probably went longer than any of Rusev’s TV matches as of yet, or maybe it just felt longer cause I was in attendance.

The final match before the interval was Big Show vs Kane in a Last Man Standing Match. The finish had a couple of botches. The first botch came when Kane was setting up a table that he broke when doing so. One of the legs fell completely off. The broken table was positioned in the corner and Kane irish whipped Big Show through it. Kane went to get another table and managed not to break it this time. Big Show tried to knock out Kane and put Kane through the table in the process, but Kane somehow managed to fall over the table rather than through it. The superstars went up high.

The finish came when Big Show KO’d Kane from the middle rope, through the table. Kane couldn’t answer the ten count. After the match, Kane sat up and went after a referee. Another referee came down to help, but Kane had them set up for a double chokeslam. Maddox ran out and told Kane not to. Kane ended up letting go and giving Maddox a chokeslam for his troubles.

INTERVAL

Justin Roberts welcomed us back and asked if we wanted to see a Title Match. I expected it to be the Divas Title but it turned out to be for the NXT Championship, which was a welcome surprise. Bo Dallas came out and cut a promo about bolieving. His voice is hilarious. He would obviously go up against NXT Champion Adrian Neville. The crowd was quite flat for this match but I think most people had no idea who they were, or even what NXT was for that matter. Dallas got quite a bit of heat throughout the match.

Neville got the pin with his awesome, awesome Corkscrew Shooting Star Press which got a good reaction. Probably the most impressive thing I seen all night.

Divas action was up next with Paige, Naomi and Cameron beating Tamina Snuka, Layla and Rosa Mendes. Paige was the only one to really get any reaction from the crowd with chants for her throughout the match.

Paige hit a cool move I hadn’t seen her hit before – a new finisher? – On Tamina for the win.

Lastly, it was main event time. Roman Reigns defeated Randy Orton. The match went pretty slow but the superstars still managed to make it fun. The cage looked really unstable but it was thrown together in 5 minutes by one of the referees. Reigns went for a spear, which Orton reversed and it cut Reigns open pretty bad just above his eye. The referee delivered the ‘X’ symbol at one point and there was people running to and from the back. Rybaxel came out and locked themselves in the cage with Orton and Reigns for a 3 on 1 beatdown. Ryback couldn’t lock the cage and got a sarcastic pop when he finally did. Out came Rollins and Ambrose. Rollins went to enter through the door, only to find it was chained up. The chain ended up falling off but the 2 members of The Shield climbed over the cage anyway. Rollins hit an awesome dive off the top of the cage on to Rybaxel. Reigns, who looked in a bad way, then hit the spear on Orton for the three count to send the fans home happy. The 3 members of The Shield posed in the ring as fans made their way out the arena.

Overall, I enjoyed the show but it was lacking star power. It was mainly a midcard showing with 1 or 2 exceptions such as The Shield and Orton. There would have been a lot of disappointed kids leaving the arena, as they all seemed to be wearing Bryan or Cena gear. Hopefully they decide to do TV here in future as the venue was certainly big enough, and the crowd were hot throughout.

Hope this is alright. I understand it’s a bit long but I’m a wannabe sports journalist!
